Mega Sardines reveals new celebrity brand ambassador Piolo Pascual
Mega Global Corporation, a leading manufacturer of canned goods, recently welcomed Piolo Pascual as the newest brand ambassador of Mega Sardines during a contract signing event held in Seared Restaurant, Pasig City.
Marvin Tiu Lim, Vice President for Sales and Marketing of Mega Global, said that the actor exhibited the qualities the brand looks for in a celebrity endorser.
In a career that has spanned 20 years, he has made his mark in the entertainment industry, through his hardwork, professionalism, humility, and a socio-civic consciousness given his involvement in several advocacies. These attributes are also shared by the Mega Sardines making it the No. 1 Sardines brand in the country in 2016 according to AC Nielsen.
“We are very thrilled, as a company, that Piolo Pascual has accepted our proposal. We believe that he is the number one star in the Philippines. Bagay na bagay sa [he is really perfect to represent] number one sardines brand in the Philippines, as well. He really believes in the product and he really embodies what Mega Sardines is. He constantly reinvents himself and never stops from learning and growing,” Tiu Lim added. “Just like him, Mega Sardines also makes sure that we continuously innovate by investing in research and state-of-the-art equipment as part of our dedication to improving people’s lives.”
As one of the leading manufacturing companies, Mega Global has managed to set high standards for the industry. For instance, it pioneered the easy-to-open can that has since become standard for other brands. It has also ensured high quality products through its 12-hour catching-to-canning process, guaranteeing product freshness. The company also actively practices sustainable fishing methods by imposing a moratorium on fishing during the breeding and spawning season of the sardines.
“I was impressed by their catching-to-canning process. I believe this sets Mega Sardines apart, above from the rest of the brands. Nakakataba talaga ng puso when you get to be welcomed and be introduced by your new family to endorse one of the leading brands in the market,” said Piolo Pascual.
Pascual also mentioned that he is not necessarily a fitness buff since he eats everything that is set on the table. “Filipinos are usually picky eaters. I was trying to avoid canned goods. But, when they showed me how they prepare Mega Sardines to ensure the quality and freshness of their product, I believed that this is the perfect product for me. I am assured that the canned sardines don’t have preservatives.” He prefers the tomato sauce with chilli variant, which he usually pair with hot rice.
Marvin Tiu Lim further said that Filipinos should expect a long-term partnership with Piolo Pascual and Mega Global as both go hand-in-hand to reaching the next level for Mega Sardines. “We are a family business, not a corporate one. We really believe in our products and we believe in giving the best products for the Filipinos. And that’s what Piolo, also, is; true to life, real, and real to all his portrayals,” he added.
With the Mega Global’s modern facilities for both fishing and manufacturing, as well as its international ISO and FSSC certification, Mega Global has introduced innovations in fishing, food technology, and packaging to better benefit their consumers.
At present, Mega Global has been a home to more than 3,500 employees, who are one with the company’s goal in extending innovative, high-quality and delicious canned products all throughout the country. It also exports to 36 countries worldwide, with the bulk being in North America and the Middle East, among others.
