BAVI Cancels Christmas Party, Raises Funds for Typhoon Survivors

Christmas will go on and the spirit of giving will live on in Bounty

Despite the tough times, just about everybody has faced in 2020, the Philippines’ poultry leader will do nothing but celebrate the season to share. BAVI will be moving forward without Christmas parties for the year and, instead, move over those funds to extend a helping hand to those affected by Super Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses, as well as the continuing COVID-19 crisis.

“We have all faced a very challenging year, yet many have suffered more severely than others and it is our duty to attend to them,” remarked company president Ronald Mascariñas. “This Christmas, we aim to help Filipino families to still feel the joy of Christmas despite the adversities they are currently facing.”

In place of parties, BAVI has encouraged its business and support centers to forward ‘Christmas with compassion’ composed of creative activities to raise funds for those in need. Proceeds will be directed to human resources which will then pool all of them together to be granted to beneficiaries affected by Rolly, Ulysses, and COVID-19.

“Instead of having big parties this year, we have opted to have small online gatherings,” expressed BAVI’s always amiable executive. “They will not only promote safety for everyone but also help out fellow Filipinos celebrate Christmas more meaningfully.”

Human Resources (HR) will also determine the top three centers which will be judged in terms of creativity, impact to the community, amount of cash donations generated, and timely and accurate submission of documentation on or before January 8 of next year.

At the same time, business and support centers may still observe Christmas celebrations, but those will have to be online only and at their own expense. In the past two weeks, BAVI has been working nonstop to give relief packs to people devastated by the typhoons in Luzon.
