French truffle, limited a la carte seafood fare, nutritious tonic soups, curry-infused culinary delights and unlimited local beer are some of the rainy day indulgence at City of Dreams Manila.
The Tasting Room
Truffle promotion
From July 1 to August 31, The Tasting Room will be offering an exquisite menu highlighting a widely-regarded and beloved ingredient in haute cuisine culture, the French truffle. A lavish six-course meal includes Duck Liver Terrine with black truffle cream, Pan-fried Crayfish with black truffle slices and Baby Purple Artichoke sautéed in Barigoule, Filled Macaroni with black truffle juice, Poached Poularde de Bresse Breast with truffle and The Truffle Macaron at P3,888++ per person. The Tasting Room is open from 6pm to 11pm, Tuesdays to Sundays.
Dessert Trolley
Patrons can also sample the venue’s Dessert Trolley to succinctly cap off an indulgent a la carte dinner which proffers a selection of seasonal fruits accompanied by an array of sauces and condiments. Tarts such as fresh apricot, freshly baked nectarine, and pecan nut are nicely paired with ginger sugar, lime sugar, coffee sugar, or hazelnut sugar condiments, or fresh crème fraise, raspberry, kiwi, or mango sauces. The tempting tart is at P360++ per slice.
Whisky Dinner
In a one-night gastronomic event on July 22, World Whiskies Award Judge Stephen Notman will host a whisky dinner at The Tasting Room highlighting a premium selection of the world’s finest spirits paired with a delightful five-course menu. The dinner will begin with the Homemade Smoked Norwegian Salmon with Capers, White Vinegar Shallots, Orange, Dill, Clams and Sake, paired with Lowlands Rosebank 24-Year Old and Rare Whisky, 46% followed by Oysters Marennes-Oleron with Heirloom Tartare, Mousse, Caviar, Salty, Lime Confit paired with Highlands – Pultney 1991, bottled 2013 by Gordon & McPhail, exclusive for Japan Import System, single cask bottling, 56.1%. The Hot Duck Liver with Acidic Mango, White Vinegar, Nectarine, Sweet Potato, Almonds, Broccolini Sprouts, Comfit and Popcorn paired with Islands Highland Park 1995 bottled 2014 by Gordon & McPhail exclusively for Japan Import System, single cask bottling, 55.9%, the main entrée: Free Range Pigeon with Gravy, Beetroots, Blackcurrant, White Beans, Chioggia, Dates and Pea Puree paired with Speyside – Macallan 1998, 16 years old, Sherry Cask Matured, Single Cask Bottling, 46% and dessert of Vanilla Ice Cream Mille-Feuille paired with Islay – Bowmore 1996, 18 Years Old, Bourbon Cask Matured, Single Cask Bottling, 58.6%. This dinner event is priced at P8,888++ per person. The regular and promotional a la carte menus will not be able during this event.
Nobu Manila
Hook, Line and Sinker Promotion
The freshest seafood imported from countries spanning east to west are the stars at Japanese-Peruvian dining hotspot, Nobu Manila from July to August with the “Hook, Line, and Sinker” promotion. A limited array of a la carte sushi and hot kitchen selections spice up Nobu’s renowned signature fare, such as Australian Scampi “New Style”, Blue Eye Trevalla with Wasabi Salsa, Kumomoto Oyster “New Style” with Uni, King Prawn with Fresh Truffle Toban, and King George Whiting Tempura with Calamansi Amazu Ponzu, among others. Patrons can likewise add three grams of fresh black truffle to perfectly pair with any dish for an additional price. The “Hook, Line, and Sinker” promotion is available from July 1 to August 31 for dinner on weekdays, 6 to 10 PM and weekends, 6 to 11 PM.
Crystal Dragon
Tonic Soups
A premium Cantonese and regional Chinese a la carte menu featuring nutrient-enriched tonic soups will be available at Crystal Dragon from July 1 to August 31. For lunch from 12 noon to 3pm and dinner from 6pm to 11pm, an exotic a la carte menu prepared by Executive Chef Bong Jun Choi features dishes such as Slow-cooked Fish Maw and Sliced Abalone with Sea Treasure Soup and Simmered Bird’s Nest Broth with Minced Chicken. The collagen-rich fish maw is said to improve the skin while the abalone is believed to promote healthy eyes, alleviate colds, reduce fluid retention and improve blood circulation. Bird’s nest is high in glycoprotein content, and is said help boost the immune system.
Mooncake Festival
As part of the Mid-Autumn Festival from August 15 to September 15, City of Dreams Manila celebrates the auspicious occasion with a delectable assortment of mooncakes perfect for dining or as gifts to loved ones and friends. The full moon’s round shape symbolizes beauty, unity and harmony in the Chinese culture and revelers pay homage to these values as they observe the Mid-Autumn Festival. During this period, families, relatives and friends would gather together to make offerings of spherical fruits and mooncakes to the heavens, to express gratitude for a bountiful harvest as well as enjoy each other’s company.
At Crystal Dragon, guests can avail of the Baked White Lotus Paste Moon Cake with Double Egg Yolk in boxes of four priced at P2,980++ per box at Crystal Dragon. For bulk orders of ten or more boxes, a reduced price of P2,780++ per box is offered. Guests can also experience limited a la carte courses for the Mid-Autumn Festival, including Wok-fried Boston Lobster Tails with Spices, Salt and Pepper; Braised Sea Cucumber and Baby Abalone with Bean Curd in Clay Pot; Sauteed Sea Grouper with Mushrooms, Honey Beans and Celery; Stewed Chicken in Chinese Wine Sauce, Taiwanese Style; as well as Chilled Sweetened Mango Sphere Coconut Mousse and Homemade Three-flavor Snow Skin Moon Cake for dessert.
Red Ginger
From July 1 to August 31, Southeast Asian cuisine at Red Ginger will include an exclusive a la carte menu showcasing some of the most popular dishes such as Malaysia’s Red Snapper Assam Curry, Singaporean Laksa, Southern Thai Red Curry of Crisp Pork Belly, and Javanese Chicken Curry, which pairs nicely with refreshing iced teas black orchid iced tea or lychee pandan ginger iced tea. For a delightfully sweet ending to a hearty meal, guests can choose from the restaurant’s latest array of cakes – chocolate hazelnut, strawberry vanilla mocha, and tropical cheesecake.
Diners at this 24-hour restaurant can likewise enjoy a new menu of late-night to early-morning “Supper Specials” from 11 PM to 6 AM such as Mamak Mee Goreng (Malaysian hawker-style friend noodles), Laksa Lemak (spicy rice vermicelli noodle soup in coconut broth), and Vietnamese Chicken Rice.
City of Dreams KTV at Chaos
Guests can throw karaoke parties with friends while enjoying unlimited local beer at City of Dreams Manila’s ten newly-opened KTV rooms every Wednesday and Thursday from 7 PM to 11 PM. All rooms come with en suite powder rooms and fully-operated touchscreen control pads and start at a consumable food and beverage package of P5,000++ for two hours and up to ten persons. Larger rooms can accommodate up to 30 guests. The KTV rooms are available from Wednesdays to Sundays, 7 pm to 2 am, and Mondays to Tuesdays by reservation.
