BAVI Joins Effort to Bring COVID-19 Vaccine to the Philippines
The best and the biggest companies in the Philippines have joined forces to make sure Filipinos finally have the weapon to win the war against COVID-19.
With that being the case, Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI) President Ronald Mascariñas was present as the country’s top executives got together to publicly pledge to raise funds that would deliver 2.5 to 3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to their kababayans.
“I am inspired to see movers of big businesses in the country band together to bring the COVID-19 vaccine to Filipino frontliners who may not be able to afford them,” expressed Mascariñas. “Karangalan naming maging bahagi sa pagpaparating ng bakuna upang umusad nang muli ang ating ekonomiya.”
Also in the online event organized by Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion were Gel Yap of CDO, Ernesto Tanmantiong of Jollibee, Gerardo Borromeo of PTC, Teresita Coson of SM, Henry Lim Bon Liong of Sterling Paper, Mukesh Advani of FICC, Maribeth Marasigan of Aboitiz, Andrew Gotianum III of Filinvest, Ramon Ang of San Miguel, Mario Deriquito of BDO, and Jaime Zobel de Ayala of Ayala.
The millions of vaccines will be purchased from British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca with the nod of vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez.
At least half of the purchase that will hopefully arrive in the second quarter of next year will be donated to the government.
